"I'm Home" was recorded with singer/songwriter Cedric Johnson a few days after he had gotten out of prison. Producer Fury Young drove from New York to Kansas to meet Cedric, who he had been corresponding with during his last few months in prison.

The two came up with the song while Fury was noodling around with a guitar in Cedric's motel room. The next day they brought it to a local studio where they recorded what would become the final vocal and a scratch guitar track. The guitar was later re-cut by Alex Sniderman at revolutionsound.

"I'm Home" is the first studio recording ever cut for Die Jim Crow, as well as the first official release. March 1, 2015
